Main 2 methods of peanut oil processing for large capacity groundnut oil production

1. Pre-pressing/ Dual Pressing /Refining
2. Pre-pressing/ Extraction/ Refining

Peanut seed proprety

Unhulled peanut has an oil content of 45%~54%; while the protein content in it is usually 21%~31% , so peanut seed belongs to high oil content types of oilseed, also called "soft oilseed materials".

It is hard to extraction most of oil out of sunflower seed paste material with only one pressing method, which means large part of oil content still residue in oil meal after first pressing,it requires the subsequent secondary processing to extract oil content from oil meals.

Dual Pressing method (Pre-pressing/ Secondary Pressing Method)

The first pre-pressing processing can efficiently processing peanut paste material and guarantee the high output efficiency, with large capacity oil press machines it can reach 180~220 tons per day, and extract large part of oil content out of peanut seed, which is 75%~78%, the oil residual content rate in oil meal is 12~14%

The secondary pressing is not so efficient as prepressing, but can extraction 60% peanut oil from oil meal, after secondary pressing, the oil content rate in oil meal remains 5% more or less (4%~6.5%).

Prepressing/Solvent Extraction Processing method

This method can extract the most sunflower oil out from sunflower seed after prepressing, after solvent extraction only 1% oil content residual in oil meal. This method saves the seed oil loss and increase the edible oil production rate, meanwhile, the full set of solvent extraction equipment set is much higher cost than oil press machine sets, it has a large output rate but the initial investment cost are often higher.

Peanut oil refining Processing

The above 2 mehod has the basically same edible oil refining processing method in actual vegetable oil production situations. Four sections of degumming, deacidification, decolorization and deodorization are required to refine the crude seed oil to become finished edible peantu oil product.
